Dog Training in Tucson
Kennel Comfort Dog Training teaches owners how to have a healthy, balanced, and fun relationship with their dogs. We'll work together to improve communication and trust between you, and the key to achieving this is consistency!
Your dog will be learning and working hard during their board and train program, but the real work begins when your pet returns home. This program will show you how to make dog training a fun and rewarding part of your everyday life, so that your pet will have continued success at home. You will have a completely new connection with your dog and with all of us doing our part you can have the amazingly happy life that you all deserve!
Dog Training Philosophy, Techniques, and Tools
If you choose to have your dog complete a board and train program with me there are a few things I need you to know, in order to make sure that you and I are the right fit. I am a balanced dog trainer and I believe in rewarding good behavior and correcting unwanted behaviors. To assist in providing the most accurate information to the dog, some of the tools I train with are; prong, e-collars, crates, leashes, food, and praise. These tools allow me to communicate effectively and humanely with your dog. Using these tools helps cut down on confusion during obedience training and helps me show your pet exactly what behavior is wanted from them.
Depending on your dog's problem areas you may be asked not to let them sleep in bed with you, be on furniture, or be overly praised. You may also be asked to start crating your dog at night. All these things will help your dog to retain the training that they will receive and ensure that they do not revert back to the negative habits they were displaying before they came to see me.
As you can see, this is a commitment. Dog training is something that needs to be maintained. Just like with humans, if they don't practice they will begin to forget or test limits. You will need to make obedience training a lifestyle for you and your dog. This doesn't mean you'll have to set aside a lot of time to continue training. It just means integrating the obedience training in a way that fits into your life. For example, your dog can be practicing a down stay while you have coffee with friends on an outdoor patio. It can be a lot of fun for your dog and for you too! It's all about creating consistency for your pet which will provide you with the best results possible!
DOG TRAINING PROGRAMS/RATES
We offer four programs at Kennel Comfort Pet Motel, the One on One Program, Prong Board and Train, E-Collar Board and Train, and the Refresher Board and Train. We offer the board and train programs in two, three, or four week time frames. Typically, if your dog only needs to learn some manners then the two week program will be for you. There are times a pet may require a longer stay, so that we can address any serious issues. To participate in a board and train full payment will be required up front, in order to reserve your spot.
